It really was a "red letter day" down the Lane today, on and off the pitch!

After a tremendous 3-0 victory against high-flying Wrexham, the fun continued in the Players’ Bar after the match as the Strikers are Key safe yielded its contents not just once but on two occasions!

After a pretty parsimonious start to the season, the safe rather got in the party mood prevailing in the bar after such a good win, firstly giving up £850 in respect of draw 5 (Boreham Wood) to the owners of ball 16, the " Lucky Striker" syndicate, comprising Bob and Stuart Hasler, Stewart Howe and Tony Cove. Congratulations to them.

Then, lo and behold, ball 1 made its first ever SAK appearance in draw 6 (Wrexham) and Tommy Wright (above) stepped forward to chose the right key on behalf of the team’s Strikers, winning them £250 along the way.

A red letter day indeed!
