Following this weekend’s results our game at home to Hartlepool United has been moved to Sunday 23 May, kick off 12.45pm, and will be televised live by BT. Torquay’s draw at Stockport leaves us three points clear of the Devon side with a goal difference advantage of six, and their game at home to Barnet will remain on Saturday at 3pm.
Despite the easing of restrictions in recent weeks, we are still as a country fighting against the Coronavirus and so the match is being played against a background that places a number of restrictions on the event.
- The capacity limit is 1,050 people.
- Attendance is restricted to home supporters only, this is a blanket restriction across the National League and will also apply to our following fixture away to Barnet.
- Because of concerns over the incident rate of virus variants within the borough, guidance from Public Health England requires that all spectators must wear face coverings at all times. This is mandatory.
In order to ensure that we know how many people are in attendance, every spectator will require a match ticket. These will be sent out digitally and may be printed or displayed on a mobile phone. Priority is being given to all season ticket holders, who can apply for a free match ticket during the priority application period from 5:00 pm Sunday 16th May until 9:00 pm on Wednesday 19th May, when the remaining tickets will go on general sale. Season ticket holders will receive a code in the same way as for the live streams, and can redeem that code to obtain their ticket. Season ticket holders may still apply for a match ticket after that deadline but we cannot guarantee ticket availability. Please note that possession of a season ticket on its own will not be enough to gain entry and that each ST holder can only only apply for one match ticket.
For this match only we will also give early access to existing (before 15th May) United We Stand Contributors and shareholders who are not season ticket holders to be able to purchase one match ticket per person ahead of the general sale. Please email info@suttonunited.net with details and we will supply access to purchase.
All spectators are expected to please read the club’s Spectator Charter before attending the match (link) and to follow these guidelines when in attendance. Stewards will be employed specifically to help ensure that the guidelines are being observed and anyone who persistently or wilfully disregards the protocols will be asked to leave the stadium. One very important point to note is that the capacity is calculated on the basis of an even distribution of spectators around the stadium, with each area having its own capacity limit, so stewards will act to prevent particular areas from becoming overcrowded and may ask people to move. Specifically, spectators cannot change ends at half-time. On arrival, it may be quicker to use the Collingwood Rec turnstiles
We know that much of this is alien to the way we have grown accustomed to watching football, but these conditions are there for a very good reason and we would ask everyone to observe them. Also, it’s our last home league match so, tradition nothwithstanding, please do NOT enter the field of play after the final whistle.
With the game being covered live by BT we regret that we are not allowed to live stream the game ourselves, but we will have an audio Mixlr commentary from the ground.
Finally, please note that the car-park will not be open for general use.
