While U’s are currently bottom of League Two, Fylde hold the same position in the National League, having won the National League North title last season to end a three year absence from non-league football’s top tier but currently like U’s with only two league wins this season and four points adrift at the bottom. They beat Leek Town 3-1 in yesterday’s 4th qualifying round.
The sides met for three seasons in the National League. although Fylde only visited Sutton twice with the outbreak of Covid occurring before they could make the trip south in the 2019-20 season, and in those games neither side has won on the other’s ground.
The game is scheduled for the weekend of the 4/5 November.
