A Londoner, 29-year-old Aiden started his career as a youth player at Millwall, signed a professional contract in 2010 and went on to make over 200 appearances for The Lions over the next ten years, scoring over 40 goals. He has subsequently played for Sunderland and Portsmouth before joining Shrewsbury last summer, and spent the second half of last season on loan at Gillingham.
Despite being born in London, he has represented the Republic of Ireland internationally, earning five full caps as well as a number at Under 17, Under 19 and Under 21 level.
Manager Matt Gray said: ”I worked with Aiden when he was at Aldershot on a loan spell from Millwall, and know what a good character he will be in the dressing room and on the pitch. He’s gone on to have a great career with Millwall, Sunderland and Portsmouth as well as playing internationally, and I’m delighted to get the chance to work with him again. He’s mainly a striker, but can also play wide and will give us quality, and options, in our front line.”
