Junior’s name may be familiar to long-standing Sutton supporters for his time as a player with Hendon in the late 1990s, when he was leading scorer two seasons in a row for the North West London club, and he played in the Premier League for Leicester City and the Football League for clubs including Gillingham, Hull City and Brentford. He has subsequently had a successful coaching career, most recently with Boreham Wood, Dagenham & Redbridge and Barnet, the last two being as assistant manager to Darren Currie, and last season was Steve King’s assistant at Gloucester City. He also had a brief spell at Leeds United under David Hockaday.
Matt Gray commented: ”After the success of bringing Sean Miles and Aly Vogelzang in to the backroom team last season, I’m delighted to welcome Junior as first team coach. He’s someone I and Jason know well, with Jason having worked with him at Boreham Wood, and his experience and knowledge will make him a great addition to the coaching staff.”
Matt talks more about the appointment, and the rest of the summer’s news, in an SUFCtv interview which can be found below
