On Tuesday we were pleased to welcome Brian Lee MBE, Chairman of the National League Trust and President of the National League, who presented a cheque for £22,934 to our Chairman Bruce Elliott and our Pan Disability Team Manager Steve King.
The Club has received this funding to support our community programme, which includes work with Special Needs schools, a Street Soccer programme for Homeless Young People, girls football, walking football and our Pan Disability Team.
The National League Trust is a charity that offers grant aid to National League clubs to support and develop their community projects. Funding is made possible by the generous support of the Premier League and the Professional Footballers Association, who have committed to support the Trust until 2019. They will each contribute to a donation of £1.2m a year during this period.
57 National League clubs are currently running projects and receiving funding from the Trust.
We would like to thank Brian Lee and the Trust, The Premier League and The PFA for their continued support.
Below Bruce and Steve, Wayne Shaw, and representatives from some of our community projects, are shown receiving the cheque from Brian Lee.
