Sutton United Football Club is proud to announce that the Gander Green Lane Stand has been renamed the Sutton United Foundation Stand, recognising the incredible impact the Foundation continues to have across the local community.

The renaming further strengthens the connection between the football club and its charitable arm, which delivers a wide range of programmes supporting people of all ages and backgrounds across the London Borough of Sutton. Through its work in education, health and wellbeing, inclusion, employability and community engagement, the Sutton United Foundation continues to make a positive difference in the lives of hundreds of local residents every year.

The decision to rename the stand reflects the Foundation’s importance to the Club’s wider mission and celebrates the invaluable contribution it makes both on and off the pitch.

Phil Tattersall, CEO of Sutton United, said:

“The Sutton United Foundation is at the heart of everything we do as a football club.

The impact the team delivers within our local community is truly remarkable, helping people of all ages through a variety of programmes that make a genuine difference to people’s lives.

Renaming the Gander Green Lane Stand as the Sutton United Foundation Stand is a fitting recognition of that work and demonstrates our ongoing commitment to ensuring the Foundation remains central to the future of Sutton United.”

Harry Dunne, Community Engagement Lead at Sutton United Foundation, said:

“Having a stand named after the Sutton United Foundation is a truly special moment for everyone involved with the Foundation.

It highlights the importance of community at the heart of Sutton United and recognises the hundreds of people who have engaged with our programmes over the years. We are especially looking forward to seeing many of our participants cheering on the team from the stand in the coming season.

We want to thank the football club for this incredible gesture and for its continued support for our work.”

The Sutton United Foundation Stand will serve as a visible reminder of the Club’s commitment to its community and the positive impact football can have beyond the pitch. The Club looks forward to continuing its work alongside the Foundation to inspire, support and engage people across the borough for many years to come.
