Sutton’s final friendly of the 2026/27 pre-season campaign will see them host a Southampton Academy side, with the Saints’ Under-21s visiting Gander Green Lane on Saturday, 1st August (3pm KO).

The U’s welcome the Hampshire-based side for the second time under Chris Agutter, having secured a 4-1 win in the National League Cup last term thanks to goals from Lewis Simper, Kai Jennings, Brandon Njoku and Mo Dabre, the latter three cancelling out Sutura Kakay’s first half leveller.

The Saints enjoyed a positive 2025/26 campaign, finishing sixth in the Professional U21 Development League to qualify for the Elimination Playoffs, where they were defeated in the Round of 16 on penalties at the hands of Aston Villa.

In what could be an exciting time at St Mary’s after the first team’s run to the Championship play-off final, prior to the reintroduction of Middlesbrough due to the Spygate incident, this will prove to be a crucial final clash for Agutter’s men, with the U’s set to kick-off their Enterprise National League season a week later.

Ticket information will be announced in due course.
