Manager Matt Gray has made two additions to the squad this week, with two players leaving the club at the same time. 23-year-old striker Donovan Wilson (above) joins on loan until the end of the season from Bath City, where he had been since September 2020 scoring six goals in nine games in the National League South. Originally at Bristol Rovers, he went on to spend three and a half years with Wolverhampton Wanderers alongside Ben Goodliffe, Will Randall and Aaron Simpson, having a spell on loan with Spanish club Jumilla as well as loan spells with Port Vale and Exeter. He subsequently returned to Spain with Burgos, and has also played for Macclesfield.  He will have the squad number 28

Also joining the club is Joash Nembhard, who can play at centre back or in central midfield. Aged 22, he has most recently been playing for TNS in Wales but has previously been with Staines, Hendon and Chesham.

Meanwhile defender Ben Margetson has returned to Cardiff City, from where he had been on loan since January. Matt explained ‘We signed Ben as competition and cover at the back, but due to the form and fitness of others he hasn’t been able to find a place in the team, He has impressed in training with his ability and attitude, but it is felt to be in the interests of all parties that he should return to his parent club, and we wish him every success in his future career.”

U’s have also lost the services of winger Jordan Adebayo-Smith, who has left to pursue a career in the US. He joined us in November and made one substitute’s appearance at home to Chesterfield. We wish Jordan all the best for the future. His squad number 20 will be taken over by Joash Nembhard.
