Worthing have won all of the previous three, winning 2-0 in the league at Sutton and also successful in meetings in the FA Youth Cup and the League Cup, the latter of which they then went on to win, beating Dartford in the final at Sutton. Worthing have four league games still to play and should they win all four of them they will be champions, but assuming Ebbsfleet win their last game of the season then anything less would see the Kent side favourites to come out on top, with Worthing then needing at least ten points from those last four games and a considerable goal difference swing. Sutton’s side today is unlikely to include Lily Dent, who is being offered a professional contract at Brighton. You can see an interview with women’s team manager Will Letts where he discusses this afternoons game, and Lily’s progression to the full time game, here. There is a Mixlr commentary on the game here
Our reserves have a shorter trip, heading to Beckenham to take on Croydon at Langley Park Sports Club, kick off 2.15pm, and after Wednesday’s 4-1 win at Milford & Witley Sutton need a six goal victory to move above Croydon in to second place behind table toppers Ashmount Leigh, who U’s face in the Surrey Divisional Cup final at Dorking next Sunday.
