Sutton hit the woodwork on several occasions in a first half marred by a serious looking knee injury to Chloe Fowler, who was stretchered off, and in the long period of stoppage time following the injury substitute Chloe Francis missed a penalty after Alice Bowles, who had also come on as a replacement for Kirsty Barton, had been fouled. When U’s again hit the woodwork in the second half it seemed to be a frustrating afternoon, but just after the hour Kaydence Kabadaki finally broke through with a fine shot from the edge of the penalty area. U’s went on to close out a relatively comfortable victory as Fern Colepio’s long range effort looped over the home goalkeeper for the second, and Darcy Wells converted Kabadaki’s cross to make the final score 3-0.

Sutton: M Humphries, S Modak, K McIntyre, F Colepio, M South, C Savage, E Spear, J Backhurst, C Fowler, K McKenzie, K Barton. Subs A Bowles, C Francis, D Wells, K Kabadaki.
