After six years of simply magnificent support, Angel are stepping down as main sponsors of the first team shirts at the end of this season. It has been a sensational six years for everyone connected with the club, and Angel Plastics will forever be remembered as the sponsor adorning the shirt that made history as Sutton United joined the EFL professional ranks for the first time in our 123 year existence two years ago, and then a year later trod the hallowed turf at Wembley for the first time since 1981 in the Papa Johns Trophy final. We are sure that many framed shirts will be sitting on walls featuring the Angel Plastics logo.
Club CEO Adrian Barry said: ”We owe a massive thank you to Steve Cobb and his colleagues for their tremendous support and commitment at such an important time in our history and also at such a tough time economically when Covid-19 took hold. We know that they will continue to support the club and that the Angel Plastics jingle will continue to echo around the VBS.”
On behalf of Angel Plastics, Steve Cobb said: ”It has been an absolute delight to share in the recent successes experienced by Sutton United and I’d like to thank everyone associated with the club who have made the whole experience for myself, family, friends and work colleagues so friendly and enjoyable over the last 6 fantastic years in the club’s history.
I’m absolutely sure that Sutton United will now go from strength to strength and I wish the new sponsors the very best of luck and trust that they will have as much fun as we did.”
