U's face Hendon in Trophy

18 December 2017

Sutton have been drawn at home to one of their oldest rivals in the second round of the Buildbase FA Trophy with Hendon visiting the Knights Community Stadium on Saturday January 13th. Regular opponents in the Athenian and Isthmian Leagues over many years, the sides have not met since Sutton's Ryman League championship season of 2010-11. Hendon, who now play at Silver Jubilee Park in Kingsbury, are currently 7th in the Bostik League Premier Division, three points outside the play-off zone but with games in hand over all the sides above them except Billericay. They beat Bath City in the first round on Saturday, and have two former U's in their squad this season in goalkeeper Tom Lovelock and striker Kezie Ibe, while manager Gary McCann kept goal for Sutton back in the early 1990s having graduated through the youth team..
