MK Dons v Sutton preview

Sutton's bid for EFL survival goes to the last game of the season this weekend, with U's knowing that nothing less than a victory at MK Dons on Saturday will provide a chance of staying in League Two for a fourth season. Sutton will be in green.

Even that might not be enough, with U's also then relying on Crewe to win at Colchester, and for the two results to produce a swing in goal difference of at least four, and probably five with Colchester currently having scored three more goals than U's, the next criteria on which sides are separated after goal difference. If the scoring records are identical, for example with a 3-1 win for Sutton and a 2-0 defeat for Colchester, then with both games between the sides this season having finished in 1-1 draws, the next criteria would be games won, with Colchester's eleven already beyond the ten that U's could achieve with a win at Stadium MK.

For any of that to matter, though, U's must win against a side whose position of fourth in the table is guaranteed regardless of the result, and who will be looking for an immediate return to League One through the play-offs having been relegated last season. The sides drew 1-1 at Sutton in September, Omar Sowunmi's goal cancelled out by Alex Gilbey's second half strike. An ever-present in MK's side this season, Gilbey has twelve goals to his credit while another player to have impressed against U's in recent times is Dan Kemp, who scored for Hartlepool last season and Swindon earlier this season and who is now back in the MK line up.

Although MK lost their last home game against promoted Mansfield, they had picked up 22 points from their previous eight home league games and only Harrogate, Morecambe and Stockport have also taken maximum points from Stadium MK this season.

Head coach Steve Morison reports no new injury worries after last week's game against Crawley.

Referee Thomas Parsons is in his second season as an EFL referee but taking charge of his first Sutton game this season. His last Sutton appointment was the 1-1 draw at Walsall just over a year ago.

We have sold out our original allocation of tickets for the game but a further supply has been released through the MK ticketing site HEREchoosing any available amber coloured block in the North Upper Stand(blocks 28A and 29 available when this preview was written).

Any tickets already ordered through our own system can be collected from the ticket office at the club until 4pm on Friday, or from the away ticket office at gate 3 on the day. Tickets will be available on the day at Stadium MK, with all prices rising by £2.

Anyone not travelling can watch the game on a live stream through our iFollow system for £10, with this weekend's 3pm games not subject to the usual streaming blackout. Click here to buy a match pass.

The Supporters' Coach leaves at 10am.

For independent travellers, drivers should leave the M1 at junction 13 and follow the A421 towards Milton Keynes and Buckingham, and stay on the A421 until the Bleak Hall roundabout. Then turn left in to Grafton Street (V6) and follow the signs to the stadium. All car parking at the stadium is now booked through the RingGo system that people may be familiar with from their own local car parks. It can be booked in advance for £8 using code 63466 either by calling 0203 046 0010, using the free RingGo app, or going to myringgo.co.uk/home. On the day parking is £10 but must again be booked through RingGo when you arrive. Make sure not to park in Asda or the MK1 centre, or any other retail outlets close to the ground. There are further details on the 'Visit Stadium MK' page of the MK Dons website.

If travelling by train, the closest station to the ground is Fenny Stratford, which is a 20 minute signposted walk from the ground. A change at Bletchley is required in all cases. Leave Euston hourly at 56 minutes past the hour with a total journey time of 52 minutes, and return at 25 minutes past the hour. There is a more frequent service to Bletchley, which is a 30 minute walk from the ground, again signposted, and plenty of trains to Milton Keynes Central, which is not walkable so a taxi will be needed to complete the journey.
