#Kingy's Going To Wembley#

22 May 2017

The club is delighted to have been invited by the Football Association to nominate someone who "represents the values of the club" to attend next weekend's FA Cup Final between Arsenal and Chelsea, to participate in the traditional singing of the hymn "Abide With Me".

Sutton United is honoured to be one of the eight clubs to have been invited to attend, as a consequence of our exploits in this season's competition. Bruce Elliott commented: "As the inspiration and driving force behind our outstanding disability football programme, Steve King was an obvious and deserving choice, especially as our Community Team clinched their championship at the weekend in their first season of league football."

Steve himself is thrilled to be attending. "It's such on honour to be representing Sutton United at Wembley on Saturday. The FA Cup and Sutton United are what dreams are made of and when I walk onto the pitch I will be thinking of every player and staff member of our Disability Teams and all those great friends who are working so hard putting our club at the forefront of the whole Sutton community."

Steve will be accompanied to Wembley by another tireless backbone of our community programme, Tony Henderson-Smith.  We hope they both have a fantastic day.
