Solihull report, photos and reaction

10 November 2017

A goal apiece from strikers Ross Lafayette and Craig Dundas enabled Sutton to keep pace with the Vanarama National League leaders on a day when all their rivals in the top five of the table followed Wrexham's win against Chester on Wednesday by picking up maximum points. Dundas saw an early header ruled out for offside, the cross provided by Tom Bolarinwa who enjoyed a fine return to Sutton colours, but Lafayette struck just before the half hour mark with a low shot after Josh Taylor had pounced on a poor clearance. Bottom of the table Solihull responded well and were unlucky when George Carline's header came back off the inside of the post, but Sutton saw out the second half and put matters beyond doubt when Dundas ran on to Lafayette's flick to shoot home. Full report, with photos, here. Paul Doswell's reaction here.
