Both our Under-21 team and ladies team enjoyed victories this weekend to consolidate their places at the top of the division in their respective competitions. On Friday night the academy team gained revenge for their only Suburban League South defeat this season when two Leon Dadey goals were enough for a 2-0 win over Molesey, who had gone in to the game behind U's only on goal difference. There is another Suburban League game at Sutton this coming Friday when Chertsey are the visitors, but the academy trial scheduled for Monday has had to be cancelled as Sutton Common Rovers have a home cup tie against Cobham.
Meanwhile on Sunday afternoon the ladies held on to top spot in the Greater London Womens Football League Division 2 South as they shrugged off the concession of an early goal to beat Wealdstone 6-2. Ella Bale replied to the Wealdstone opener within a minute and went on to collect a hat trick, with Jade Johnson, Faye Butler and Emma Green also on target.
