Ross joins Billericay

18 October 2018

Striker Ross Lafayette has left Sutton and signed for Vanarama National League South leaders Billericay Town. Ross joined us in summer 2017 from Dover, and scored 15 goals in 53 games for the club, including four in the league this season. Manager Paul Doswell explained: '' We had an enquiry from Dean Brennan at Billericay with regards to Ross, and have agreed to his immediate transfer. Billericay have offered Ross a really good contract which includes a deal for next season and an option for a further year thereafter, and at this moment we were not in a position to talk with regards to next season. Ross was a big part of our success last season and was a pleasure to work with, and this opportunity is perfect for him as it allows him to work as a recruitment manager during the day and train in the evenings. We wish him all the best for the future.

We are also very keen to see Jonah Ayunga and Aaron Drinan keep progressing and at just 21 and 20 respectively they are showing real promise. As I alluded to last week, managing the budget is always a priority and this certainly was a factor in agreeing to the move. Now looking forward we have a massive game Saturday at Wealdstone and I hope to see as many supporters as possible in amber to help us through a tough FA Cup tie.''
