One week after the most momentous day in Sutton United's long and proud history, works began to take up the 3G pitch and replace it with a grass surface such that we will be ready in time for the start of the club's historic first season in the Football League!
Just before the diggers went to work, we managed to salvage some iconic parts of the 3G pitch - special memorabilia of this most historic time for Sutton United Football Club!
We plan to display a couple of the pitch sections in the clubhouse - the penalty spot from where Jamie Collins scored against Leeds United in the FA Cup 4th Rd in 2017 and the exact spot from where Isaac Olaofe fired home Sutton's last ever goal to be scored on the surface, against Hartlepool United, the strike which blasted the U's into the Football League!
The remaining salvaged pieces, however, are all available to buy via an auction to all U's supporters. Each piece is - very approximately - a square metre in dimension ( they are all slightly different ) and there are 26 “lots” to bid for, as follows:
Lot 1 - The corner quadrant - Gander Green Lane entrance
Lot 3 - the GGL Goal line - across which so many goals were scored
Lot 4 - the part of the GGL goal line where Isaac Olaofe's goal v Hartlepool and Jamie Collins' penalty v Leeds United entered the net
Lot 6 - the edge of the six yd box - GGL end - Park side
Lot 7 - the corner quadrant - GGL end - Park side
Lot 8 - the corner of the 18 yd box - GGL end - Park side
Lot 9 - the intersection of the 18 yd box and the D - GGL end - Park side
Lot 10 - the intersection of the 18 yd box and the D - GGL end - stand side
Lot 11 - the corner of the 18 yd box - GGL end - stand side
Lot 13 - the intersection of the half way line and touch line - Park side
Lot 14 - the intersection of the half way line and centre circle - Park side
Lot 15 - the centre spot
Lot 16 - the intersection of the half way line and centre circle - Stand side
Lot 17 - the intersection of the half way line and touch line - Stand side
Lot 18 - the corner of the 18 yd box - Collingwood End - Park side
Lot 19 - the intersection of the 18 yd box and the D - Collingwood End - Park side

Lot 28 - the part of the Collingwood End goal line where Rob Milsom's free kick v Hartlepool United entered the net
Lot 30 - The spot from where Dan Fitchett scored the first League goal to be scored on the pitch
Lot 31 - the spot from where Roarie Deacon struck the bar against Arsenal in the FA Cup 5th Round in 2017
The auction will end at 9pm on Sunday 20th June and the pitch sections will be available to collect from the club car Park on Tuesday morning 22 June 10-12, Saturday afternoon 26th June 3-5 or by mutual arrangement
