Disability team at VBS on Saturday

1 December 2022

Our disability team plays on the VBS pitch for the first time this season on Saturday with a home game against Surrey CP, kick off 1.45pm, admission free. Steve King updates us on their progress so far this season.

The Sutton United U's team have started the season very strongly and still remain unbeaten.

Friendly games with Worthing and Woking saw home draws giving all the squad valuable game time.

The U's top the Friendship Premership League after 5 games played and a fortnight ago the U's came safely through as group winners in the FA Disability Cup first round with impressive wins against two of the stronger southern disability teams, MK Dons and Welling United Deaf, both by 2-0, as well as a 3-0 win against Ruislip Manor - above is a picture of the squad that took part in those three games.

The fixtures and results page on the disability team page of the website has now been updated to show all results for our teams so far this season. Click on the above link. The relevant team is shown in brackets after the opposition name.

Saturday sees the first game on the stadium pitch for the disabilities team with the U's take on Surrey CP. We will be without Aaron Lucas who is away with England's CP training camp. This will be another good opportunity for U's manager James O'Carroll to use all the squad available to him as we play our good friends from Surrey CP.

Kick off 1:45 pm entry free of charge all welcome.

Forthcoming disability game
