U's drawn at home in FA Cup

17 October 2022

Sutton United have been drawn at home to National League South Farnborough in the first round of this season's Emirates FA Cup.

Farnborough are currently 19th in the National League South table, but have scored fifteen goals in reaching this stage of the competition, including seven in Saturday's home defeat of Biggleswade Town. They previously beat Swindon Supermarine 5-1 away, having entered the competition with a 2-0 win in a replay at Hayes & Yeading after a 1-1 draw.

Their squad this season includes Kenny Davis, who left Sutton in the summer, but he is unlikely to feature having joined Aldershot on a month's loan last week.

The sides last met competitively in the 2014-15 season in the National League South, U's doing the double with a 1-0 away win and a 2-0 home success, with Farnborough relegated at the end of that season.

The tie will be played over the weekend of 5 November.
