Arsenal's academy side proved too strong for Sutton in today's Capital Senior Cup tie at South Park, running away with the game in the second half to finish 11-1 winners.
The signs were ominous as Arsenal scored inside the first twenty seconds, and added a second five minutes later, but Sutton held their own for the remainder of the half, and four minutes after half time were back in the game as Lily Dent converted a fine pass from Darcy Wells. However that only served to spark Arsenal in to action, and after they had restored their two-goal advantage almost immediately they showed why they are seven points clear at the top of the South Division of the WSL Academy League, scoring eight more without reply.
Next Sunday we are away to Brentford at Bedfont Sports in the League Cup, kick off 3pm.
The reserve and development games against Croydon and Cranleigh were both called off due to frozen pitches.
