Aubergine kit sale raises over £1,800 for Royal Marsden Cancer Charity

17 April 2024

We're delighted to announce that earlier today we presented The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity with a cheque for £1,801.20.

Back in March, against Accrington Stanley, the club launched a special, aubergine coloured shirt, with £3 from the sale of each shirt being donated to the charity.

For those that don’t know, The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust is a world-leading cancer centre. Donations to the Charity help to provide the best possible treatment and care for patients at the hospital, aiding the development of new treatments that can help cancer patients around the world.

Matthew Disley, Commercial Director for Sutton United, had this to say: ''I’m really happy that as a club we’re able to support a cause like this, because cancer touches all of our lives in one way or another. For me, it was my first time visiting The Royal Marsden, so it was great to see first hand all the amazing work that they do.”

As well as presenting the cheque, a number of Sutton United first team players visited The Royal Marsden’s Oak Centre for Children and Young People. Harry Beautyman, Joe Kizzi, Josh Coley and Harry Smith all spent time with the children and young adults. They took selfies, delivered books and signed merchandise.

A huge heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported this campaign so far, we really appreciate it. As a club we are committed on a long-term basis to supporting The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, and we will continue to fundraise and help where we can. Please remember you can pre-order your Royal Aubergine shirt here .
