Harrogate v Sutton preview and ticket update

12 April 2024

It's a crucial afternoon on Saturday in the quest to stay in the EFL, with all four teams involved in the relegation battle away to sides who still have ambitions of leaving League Two in the opposite direction at the end of the season. Sutton face Harrogate Town at the Envirovent Stadium, with U's wearing white.

Of the four opponents of the sides at the foot of the table, Harrogate's chances of featuring in the play-offs would appear to be the most remote, with anything less than wins in each of their last three games unlikely to be enough. However they are in good form going in to the game, losing only one of their last seven games and winning their last three at home, including a 5-1 hammering of rivals for a play-off spot Gillingham on Easter Monday. Until that run it was their away form that had been more impressive, and in January they won at Sutton for the first time, but U's have won on each of their last two visits to the Envirovent Stadium.

Sutton also need wins from the last three games, having seen all Forest Green, Colchester and Grimsby all lose on Tuesday, Grimsby's defeat coming by the only goal at Harrogate. U's will definitely be without Ben Goodliffe, whose injury picked up in training before the Stockport game will keep him out for the rest of the season.

Saturday's referee is Adam Herczeg, in his second season as an EFL referee and in the middle for the game at Stockport in December. To balance that, he also took charge of U's 1-0 win at King's Lynn in the National League championship season.

Remaining tickets have now been made available for Sutton supporters through the Harrogate ticketing system here. If you have not used Harrogate's system before you will need to create an account here and then buy tickets here. Note that there will be no physical tickets on sale at the ground. Prices rise by £3 for seats, and after midnight tonight adult and concession prices rise by £2 and under 18 prices rise by £1. All admission will be through the South turnstile. At a roundabout in a couple of miles, ignore the A59 signs and instead take the A658 towards Bradford. At the second roundabout turn right on to the A661. Pass a Sainsburys on the left and the ground is on the right just before the hospital. There is no parking at the ground, but street parking is available around the ground although parking restrictions apply in some cases. You can park for £6 at the Cedar Court Hotel in Park Parade (HG1 5AH) - book your car in, and pay, at reception. Alternatively use town centre car parks and walk to the ground.
